Don't sell it, just take it to a proper garage, i.e not an incompetent main Ford dealer !

Got in it this morning and the panel has stop flashing - weird weird weird. (The fan still runs at full chat tho')

Will get Ford to plug it in for free, if thats possible, and tell me whats wrong this time and then i'll take to a proper garage.

why not take it back,STAMP YOUR FEET AND DEMAND THAT THEY FIX THE BLOODY THING after all they had it enough times and taken your money or do they expect you to end up paying for a complete new air con system??bit by bit??

the aux heater?im assuming they put that on the computer to tell you its knackerd?probably only requires a new glow plug to be fitted AND THEY WONT DO THAT AT FORDS only say the complete unit is fubared and thatll be

With my previous Galaxy that had issues with air con my Ford dealer after several failed attempts at fixing it actually recommended that I took it to a VW dealer !

Took the car back today. Diagnosed as a fan relay failure but as the Ford system is down they can't tell me if they can replace just the relay or if its the whole control unit !?!?!

As the system is down they also don't know how much it will cost or when they can even get the parts to do it. They stated that this failure is nothing to do with the climate control pipe they changed last week, which required most of the front of the car to be removed - i'm not so sure and to top it off the climate control panel is flashing again.

Does anyone know where the said relay lives??

Incompetent bunch of 'computer says no' lets try another yet expensive part monkeys!

I have know made my mind up never to buy another Ford as their diagnosis of anything sucks!

The only thing Ford on your car is the gearbox and radio...the rest is VolksWagen.

Ford dealers can't diagnose their own cars they have no chance with VW's.

I believe its by design that if the Air Con is turned on the main radiator fan is also turned on (the second fan should remain inactive). The fan control unit is located just underneath the main engine bay fuses beside the battery.

My fan control box started misbehaving, leaving the fan on after the ignition was turned off and flattening the battery. So I opened it up and cleaned the relay contacts.

Hope this helps... :o

Update - Took the car into Ford, who on Tuesday stated that it was a total coincidence that this happened so soon after they had "fixed" the car.

Well just had a call to say that when they regassed my car last time that their A/C gassing machine was faulty and hadn't correctly charged the car hence the random issues i've been having. (The also didn't do up all the fastenings when they returned the car from that trip - the next morning i noticed that the wheelarch liners were hanging off)

Net result - no charge for this visit!

Wahay for the compentence of the the Ford main dealer network.

Note to oneself - next time i'll take it to backstreet Bob.
